How many devices can I connect to the Lazer VPN?

What is the difference between the Basic and Premium Lazer VPN?
The Basic VPN (€12.99/month) provides access to UK streaming content — BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4 and more. The Premium VPN (€29.99/month) provides access to content from 8 countries: UK, USA, Germany, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Spain, and Canada. It also includes a new ONT device for the connection.
Does the Lazer VPN work with my existing UK streaming subscriptions?
Yes. The VPN provides the connection — your existing subscriptions (BBC iPlayer licence fee, ITVX free account, Netflix UK subscription etc.) continue to work exactly as they did in the UK. You don’t need to create new accounts. Note that some services may require an active subscription registered in the relevant country.
Does the Lazer VPN affect my internet speed?
Because the VPN routes your traffic through a server in another country, there can be a small reduction in speed compared to your standard connection. In practice, for HD and 4K streaming the impact is minimal, our VPN servers are optimised for streaming performance. Most customers notice no difference in their day-to-day streaming experience.
Can I use the Lazer VPN for working from home?
Yes. The Lazer VPN creates a dedicated Wi-Fi network in your home, you can choose which devices connect to the VPN network and which use your standard connection. This means you can connect your TV to the VPN for streaming while keeping your work laptop on the standard network for VPN-sensitive corporate tools, if needed. Is the Lazer VPN the same as NordVPN or other consumer VPNs?
No. Consumer VPNs like NordVPN require an app installed on each device and need to be manually activated. Lazer VPN operates at the router level, it creates a dedicated Wi-Fi network that gives any connected device automatic VPN access with no apps, no logins, and no manual activation. It’s specifically designed for streaming geo-restricted content on all devices including smart TVs, and is configured remotely by our local Algarve team.
What happens to my VPN if I upgrade or change my Lazer internet plan?
Your VPN service is independent of your internet speed plan, upgrading from Basic to Gold fibre, for example, doesn’t affect your VPN setup. If you make significant changes to your connection type, contact our team and we’ll confirm whether any reconfiguration is needed. Our local support team handles any adjustments remotely.
