What is Symmetrical Fibre Internet?
Symmetrical internet gives you the same upload speed as download speed. With a 500 Mbps Premium connection, for example, you can receive data at up to 500 Mbps and send it at up to 500 Mbps.
Faster upload speeds are particularly useful for video calls, uploading large files, cloud backups, live streaming, remote access and other activities where data needs to travel from your home to the internet.
Why does upload speed matter?
Download speed affects how quickly you receive content. Upload speed affects how quickly you send it.
That matters when you are sharing large files, backing up data to the cloud, participating in video calls or accessing systems remotely.
Who Is Premium Internet for?
Fast upload speeds help with video calls, cloud applications, file sharing and remote-access tools.

Premium Internet: FAQ’s
What does symmetrical internet mean?
Symmetrical internet provides equal upload and download speeds. For example, a 500 Mbps Premium plan provides up to 500 Mbps download and 500 Mbps upload.
What speeds are available with Lazer Premium?
Premium is available in four symmetrical speed tiers: Silver at 250/250 Mbps, Gold at 500/500 Mbps, Platinum at 750/750 Mbps and Diamond at 1 Gbps/1 Gbps. All Premium plans include unlimited data.
What is the difference between Basic and Premium?
Basic plans use non-symmetrical speeds, with download faster than upload. Premium provides equal upload and download speeds and is designed for customers who need greater upload capacity.
Is Premium suitable for working from home?
Premium can be particularly useful for remote workers who regularly use video calls, cloud storage, remote-access tools or transfer large files, because these activities can depend heavily on upload speed.
Is Premium suitable for content creators and live streaming?
Lazer Premium is available in Faro, Loulé, Albufeira, Vilamoura, Almancil, Lagoa, Portimão, and surrounding areas. Use the coverage map to check availability at your specific address
Can I add eero Wi-fi or NordVPN to a premium plan?
Yes. Symmetrical fibre provides significantly more upload capacity for activities such as uploading large video files, cloud syncing and sending live video.
Can I use Premium with a home server or NAS?
Premium’s symmetrical speeds can make it suitable for applications that require substantial outbound bandwidth, including remote access to home servers and NAS devices. Depending on your setup, a Fixed IP may also be useful.
Does Premium include unlimited data?
Yes. The current Premium plans include unlimited traffic.
How do I check whether Premium is available at my address?
Use the Lazer coverage checker to check your property. Our team can then confirm fibre availability and which Premium speeds can be installed.
